Good teams find ways to win close games, and UTA came back from being down by 10 in the first half to win by 2 at Seattle, a team that had beaten them by 17 at home earlier this season. The Shorthorn had a nice write-up about the game. UTA is now 10-3 away, and 4-6 at home.
With just a few conference games remaining for the Mavs, the WAC standings now look like this:
Louisiana Tech 23-3, 14-0
Denver 17-8, 13-2
New Mexico State 18-9, 12-3
Utah State 18-6, 9-5
UT Arlington 14-9, 9-5
Idaho 9-16, 5-10
San Jose State 9-16, 3-11
Texas State 7-19, 3-11
UTSA 6-19, 2-12
Seattle U 7-18, 2-13
Up next: two non-conference games at home this week:
Wednesday: vs. UT-Pan American, who we beat 60-51 in Edinburg earlier this year and is 13-14 overall and 3-3 in the Great West Conference this season
Saturday: a Ramada Worldwide Bracketbusters game vs. UC-Irvine, who is 14-13 with wins over Nevada, USC and Hawaii and 8-6 in the Big West next Saturday.
