UT Arlington Mavericks Earn 2nd Seed with Another Convincing Win Over Rival Texas State

The two Sun Belt basketball contests against Texas State every year rarely disappoint, and this year has been no different.

UT-Arlington (16-15, 12-6 Sun Belt) won a double-overtime game in San Marcos a couple of weeks ago. The Mavericks,  playing on their home floor this afternoon, led wire-to-wire and defeated a very, good Bobcat team (23-8, 12-6 Sun Belt) in convincing fashion 81-73 for the second win against Texas State this season. The College Park Center had a great playoff-like atmosphere today, with probably 20-30% of the 2,702 fans in attendance cheering on the visiting team. A lot like when North Texas comes to town.

Mavs Now 12-7 after Road Trip Sweep

UTAfireworks20131115_214857UTA Mavs have played well the last two weeks. Let’s look at how they’ve done and check out the conference standings.

Last time I posted…two weeks ago, the Mavs had just demolished Arkansas State by 27 points in Arlington to put their record at 9-6 overall, 3-2 in conference play with tough games coming up at Georgia State, at home vs. Texas State and back on the road at then-conference leader UL-Monroe and always tough-at-home UALR.
