No official word on any new recruits being signed yet, but a couple of interesting things regarding the 2013-2014 schedule. According to a Star-Telegram article, an interesting Denton Record-Chronicle blog post and discussion on a North Texas sports fan board, the UTA-UNT series may or may not happen next year. Seems UNT has a lot of road games scheduled for 2013-2014, but this year is UTA’s turn to host it…so will UNT buy out the game? Will UTA host it after all? Will the series maybe just be postponed for a year?
One has to think the Mavs will probably try to everything possible to play the game this year at College Park Center, which would likely guarantee a near-sellout crowd (or at least 4000 I’d think) and an amazing atmosphere between DFW’s top two college basketball teams. I’m sure something will get worked out, even if it means maybe not playing on UTA’s preferred date.
Here’s some highlights from the last time UNT-UTA played in Arlington:
In other scheduling news: looks like we’re playing a home game against Cleveland State and at Kentucky, at Robert Morris, at Eastern Michigan. The Shorthorn has an article with quotes from Coach Cross about the games.
